System Engineer URGENT NEED FOR SYSTEM ENGINEER TITLE: System Engineer LOCATION: Pomona, CA TYPE: 3+ months with strong possibility of extension OUR CLIENT: Our client is a Fortune 500 company with a strong 20,000 employee base offering a portfolio of services to companies that include process consulting and outsourcing; application consulting and outsourcing and infrastructure services. As a potential consultant or an employee you are guaranteed to work with the newest and most exciting technologies and services. ROLE: • To provide 3rd Level Support and have responsibility for Systems Design, Capacity Planning/Management, Systems Hardening and Security, and Risk Management and Mitigation. • Assess and recommend architectural designs/changes to customer systems in response to business or technical drivers • Maintain DNS, DHCP, domain controllers, active directory applications, printing, web servers; SharePoint servers, FTP services, etc. for the enterprise • Provide support for MS SQL servers in clustered environments and Citrix farm to ensure that the servers are performing properly Required Skills: • 5 plus years of Systems experience to include in-depth knowledge of Microsoft enterprise services such as Active Directory, including its dependence on DNS, FSMO Roles, Global Catalogs, FRS, Kerberos authentication and group policies. • Experience and use of Microsoft Operations Framework and ITIL processes. • System performance tuning and measurement, back-up/recovery, Symantec Anti-Virus software, NAS, SAN, Cluster configuration, and other production system administration tools knowledge. • Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Clustering Services including troubleshooting production systems in a high-availability environment. • Posses in depth knowledge of application architecture, systems architecture, file and registry level security, infrastructure services such as DHCP and DNS. Desired Skills: • Ability to perform basic debugging of server kernel crashes considered a major plus. • Proficiency and experience with SMS 2003,MOM, servers including troubleshooting production systems in a high-availability environment. • Experience in Macintosh, SMS 2003, Citrix Metaframe XP or Presentation Server 3.0/4.0, SQL. • Experience in scripting skills in ADSI, WMI, VB script or similar is preferred. • Experience in enterprise data center or a multi-site environment is preferred. • SQL Server administration skills are a plus. Educational and Certification • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience • MCSA/MCSE or significant work towards a certification US Citizen or Green Card only.
