Production Planner - Industrial Food Manufacturing

Wholesale baking and food manufacturing company in the East Bay area approximately 35 miles SE of San Francisco, is seeking a Production Planner.

Job Summary:
This position manages and facilitates effective and efficient information flow through-out the production process. This includes labor and production planning/scheduling in collaboration with customer service, production, quality assurance, maintenance, material and resource planning, and finished product hand-over to logistics. These tasks are performed ensuring all operational data (i.e. productivity, regulatory) is captured maintained and communicated.

Accountabilities:
•Ensure finished product is always delivered on time driving on-time delivery metrics.
•Efficiently use of labor and plant resources driving the cost of production down.
•Ensure materials are available reducing un-planned down-time / change-overs.
•Ensure data is available for effective product re-call and AIB audit requirements. This is measured through performance on mock recall and AIB audit score.

Responsibilities:
•Provide a daily production schedule that ensures quality product, on time and at or under budgeted unit cost.
•Provide and maintain systems that will efficiently manage batch and work in process (WIP) information ensuring product always conforms to the Company requirements. This will require developing and implementing a system to track batch and WIP.
•Provide and maintain systems that will efficiently hand-off finished product to Logistics department ensuring on time delivery within budgetary limits.
•Provide the means to systematically capture and hand-over data to QC required by regulatory programs.

Technical Skills & Knowledge
•Experienced with ERP and MRP systems.
•Solid knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and data based systems.
•Demonstrated ability to successfully utilize forecasting, production scheduling, batch management, finished product and budget management techniques.
•Ability to successfully contribute and participate as an important part the Operations team.
•Ability to effectively communicate with plant level and management personnel.

Qualifications:
•BS or BA degree required.
•Minimum five years industrial food manufacturing experience preferred.
Similar industrial manufacturing will be considered.
•Previous experience as a Production Planner
